The Opportunity
Using our deep portfolio of projects focused on design excellence as a platform, we are building the next generation design firm to address the evolving and complex challenges facing our clients. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a leadership team as we grow and build the firm of the future. We are looking for an inspired architectural designer who shares our passion for designing projects that makes a positive impact on people and the planet. This position will contribute to firm wide design leadership, with a specific focus on design of high-performance buildings in SRG’s active market sectors, including Higher Education, Science & Technology, Civic, Healthcare and Sports & Recreation facilities.

This Architectural Design Leader will be based in Seattle but will be part of a team of design leaders contributing to design excellence on projects in both offices (Seattle & Portland). About the role

General Expectations

  • Provide planning and design leadership and/or support at a project level, firm wide and with clients and community groups.
  • Participate in all phases of design on a wide variety of project types. The goal is to apply expertise and experience to elevate the quality of each project and to enhance the firm’s overall design presence.
  • Work collaboratively with other design leaders to promote SRG’s design philosophy and process.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to actively set and meet project and firm design goals.
  • Serve as an active mentor and advisor within the firm.

Firm-wide Involvement

  • Active promotion of SRG’s mission, goals, and initiatives.
  • Participation in annual retreat, monthly business meetings, and discussions involving firm direction.
  • Other, as opportunities and needs arise.

Business Development

  • Active involvement in client development and marketing, and participation in general promotion and public relations.
  • Lead role on select marketing efforts, including the preparation of content for proposals and interviews.
  • Actively recruit new talent to the firm.
  • Active involvement in professional and community organizations representing SRG.

Our Understanding of your Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Architecture.
  • Current Washington, Oregon and/or California registration (NCARB registration is desirable)
  • 15+ years of experience in architectural design and planning of facilities within our core markets
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and team building skills with colleagues, clients and consultants
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Track record of outstanding client relations and contribution to business development
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage concurrent responsibilities
  • LEED AP
