The WSU Academic Center in Everett is an opportunity for more students to get the engineering degrees that local businesses like Boeing are demanding.
WSU's moves are just the latest in a broader effort to create more graduates in high tech fields for students coming from Washington. Washington companies often have to go out of the state, and even out of the country to fill its high tech jobs. Officially called WSU North Puget Sound at Everett, there are plans to create graduate degree programs as well. The focus is on science, technology, software, engineering and mathematics, says the university.
