The new NYC Garage at Nike World Headquarters is artfully themed around the New York City’s sporting heritage with each level featuring graphics for championship New York sports teams. A covered outdoor courtyard for community gatherings, special events on campus and sports activities includes asphalt, cobblestone and artist-commissioned graffiti walls, while spaces for basketball, wallball and futsal further give off a distinct New York City vibe. The LA Garage, similarly, is themed around Los Angeles's sporting heritage with the covered courtyard showing iconic athletes from the 1984 Olympics, hosted in LA, as well as each level using super graphics, logos and colors for Los Angeles sports teams. The LA Garage opened in early 2017 and the NY Garage will open in January 2018.
Inspired by a culture of innovation, the designs for two campus parking garages redefine the traditional parking structure. These buildings are hubs of transportation and the place where people become pedestrians, so the design concept is based on the idea of “movement,” a key theme for the client's products and design culture.
