Oregon Department of Forestry
Salem Headquarters and Public Service Building
SRG designed the new Operations Building and the Public Services Building for this historic 10.5-acre campus. These two facilities, which support approximately 900 FTEs, face the creek that runs through the compound and echo the horizontal lines, gabled roofs and materials of the historic State Forester’s Office. The new buildings have a 21st-century look, with flexible work areas, an exposed interior steel structure, wood exteriors, stainless steel roofing and stone details. Sustainable features include natural ventilation and extensive daylighting, allowing the facilities to consume 30% less energy than Oregon code requirements and providing occupants with optimum exposure to the surrounding natural environment.
