Grays Harbor College

Instructional Facility

This 75,000sf Instructional Facility, the first new building on the Grays Harbor College campus in decades, spans a steeply sloped wooded site to link upper and lower campus portions. The building, housing academic and administrative programs, exists as two volumes which are linked on the level below. A large roof plane spans the space between the volumes, sheltering building entries and defined by a 65-foot timber-clad column reminiscent of Aberdeen’s logging history. Dramatic views of the warmly lit timber column and roof plane can be seen from the rainy skies of Aberdeen, reconnecting the College to its community.
