Savery Hall Renovation
SRG recently completed an extensive renovation of historic Savery Hall, a major campus classroom building serving liberal arts and social sciences departments. Built in 1916 and last renovated 50 years ago, Savery’s entire interior was renovated to undergo seismic, structural, life-safety, accessibility and systems improvements. To bring clarity to the building’s congested circulation, SRG reorganized the program by co-locating classrooms on the first floor and retrofitting entrances to this level; offices and administrative functions were relocated to the floors above. The project is designed to achieve LEED Gold certification, using innovative strategies for natural ventilation and daylighting to minimize energy use and facilitate learning.
