Pacific University
Health Professions Campus
This first phase of a new health professions campus for Pacific University brought together six different academic departments to create a much stronger overall program. The design consolidates clinical and research programs from several locations into two urban buildings close to mass transit and related healthcare institutions. The Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center, a non-profit clinic serving the working poor, is also located in the new building. Certified LEED Gold, the building reduces energy consumption via a super-insulated exterior skin, abundant daylighting throughout to decrease cooling and lighting loads, and a highly efficient HVAC system. 97% of all construction waste for this project was recycled.
