Hayward Field Magic Returning Soon

September 12, 2019

The new Hayward Field at the University of Oregon is on track for completion in time for its debut at the Pac-12 Track & Field Championship meet in May 2020, followed by the 2020 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials in June. The highly anticipated track and field stadium will feature 12,650 permanent seats, a nine-lane track, and unparalleled athlete amenities focused on performance and inspiration. An open-air feel, up-close seating and optimal sightlines, and state-of-the-art acoustics projecting sound throughout the venue will enhance the fan and athlete experience.

“To be able to walk through the site and be able to see the size and the space of the 140-meter (track), it’s phenomenal,” says Oregon track and field coach Robert Johnson. “It’s way bigger than I thought and it even looks further than 140 meters…that was a ‘Wow’ moment for me.”
