Flexible and Adaptable
A technically sophisticated facility for hands-on learning, the Center offers the highest possible levels of life safety, security, daylighting, clean air, and the efficient use of energy and water in support of all activities held within. The flexible and adaptable building responds nimbly to the changing needs of the surrounding community, and works to express clearly Salt Lake Community College’s goals and values to its immediate learning community and to greater Salt Lake County. On a highly visible site, the Center’s massing demonstrates its function and interior program while, inside, visual transparency puts training on display to motivate and inspire students.
Training for the Community
The WWTEC brings together technical education in multiple advanced manufacturing trades vital to the long-term economic vitality of the Salt Lake Valley, including Composites, Plastics, Machining, Welding, Electronics, Diesel Technology and CDL Truck Driving. The building includes skills labs, classrooms, faculty offices and administrative support. In addition, the building provides space for collaboration with industry partners in multiple fields. The WWTEC supports current and future training needs in flexible, high-quality space that will serve Salt Lake Community College for decades to come.
