Our Philosophy and Manifesto
We recognize our work not just as buildings, but as ideas inspired by people, and opportunities to create places that endure.
SRG was recently selected as the architect for @osucascades Academic Building 2! The design competition for the project involved some of the best design firms in the Northwest, including @millerhull, @bora_architects, @ygharch / @woofter.architecture and @opsis.architecture. Our concept for the new STEAM building will serve as the prototype for future net-zero campus expansion, beginning implementation of OSU’s Long-Range Development Plan and providing an adaptable and scalable framework for future buildings. . The design, with a daylight-tuned façade and plans to incorporate mass timber, will solidify OSU Cascades’ identity in Bend. Informed by the unique topography of its site, the building’s dynamic indoor/outdoor environment will support numerous activities through flexible event space, a formal amphitheater and an informal cascading plaza where people can gather. Highly flexible interior academic spaces are organized on a modular grid, which will allow for future program adaptation and redistribution, as well as potential off-site construction of building elements. The winning concept shown will serve as the starting point for the design as we embark on this exciting project! - @affiliated_engineers @catena_engineers @samataengineers @dowlengineers #SwiftCompany #jmbconsulting #designcompetition #netzero #designbySRG
